Keep The Biters At Bay

We love the warm days of summer…

Many of us break out the grill and light up the campfire for s’mores. Others relax or play in the pool. Often those picture-perfect moments are interrupted by the buzz of an approaching mosquito — and for most of us, citronella candles are not effective enough.

When you contact us, a licensed technician treats your yard with a barrier spray that eliminates biters for 30 days. That is nine days longer than other mosquito control companies, so you save money with fewer applications. Using a backpack sprayer designed for precise application, your technician targets shrubs, trees, mulch beds and leaf litter with a spray that kills mosquitoes on contact and bonds to foliage, where it keeps working as a repellent for weeks to come.

The safety of our family and pets matters as much to us as it does to you, so here is what we use. The barrier spray chemicals in our traditional program are synthetic forms of pyrethrins called pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are insecticides derived from a naturally occurring compound, pyrethrum, found in the chrysanthemum flower. Pyrethroids are used in numerous consumer products — household insecticides, pet shampoos and sprays, even lice shampoos applied directly to the scalp. The products are water-based, mixed in water, will not harm plants, and anything we use is registered with the EPA.

Within 30 minutes of spraying, your yard is ready for family and pets to come out and play.

Our process

How a mosquito treatment runs

Fifteen to thirty minutes, placed where mosquitoes actually sit.

First application

First

The first application goes down in the first two weeks of May, once there are leaves on the trees for the barrier to bond to. Coverage runs through the first two weeks of October.

Treatment application

Treatment

A typical visit takes 15 to 30 minutes — longer for bigger properties. The technician works the undersides of dense shrubs, the area under decks, mulch beds, leaf litter and damp shaded corners, not the open lawn.

Barrier application

Barrier

The spray kills mosquitoes on contact and then bonds to foliage, where it acts as a repellent for weeks. The same treatment is effective on other pests including fleas, ticks and some flies.

After application

After

Give it 20 to 30 minutes to dry completely, depending on temperature and humidity. Once it is dry, the deck, pool and yard are ready for family and pets again.

Frequently asked questions

Mosquito Control FAQs

When do you start spraying for mosquitoes?
The first application goes down within the first two weeks of May — there must be leaves on the trees for the barrier to bond to — and you have coverage through the first two weeks of October.
How long does the mosquito barrier treatment take?
A typical treatment averages about 15 to 30 minutes. Larger yards may take longer.
Do you spray the grass for mosquitoes?
No. If you are only looking for mosquito control we do not treat the grass, because mosquitoes do not shelter there. During the day they sit on the underside of leaves of dense, shrubby plants, under decks, and in damp shady areas of the property — that is what gets treated.
Will the treatments eliminate all mosquitoes?
No service can offer 100% protection from every mosquito. A mosquito from a neighboring property can still make its way into your yard and bite you before it lands on a treated surface. What you will find is that their presence is reduced by over 95%.
How long before I can go in the yard after you have sprayed?
The product needs to dry completely. Depending on temperature and humidity we recommend a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes. Once it is dry, you and your family can safely use the deck, pool and yard.
